□ Scientific and Cultural Events

The purpose of the National Gwacheon Scientorium is to provide science education for all people (Education), arouse enthusiasm for, and interest in, science and technology (Entertainment), develop an understanding among the public about science and technology as culture (Understanding), and providing the opportunities to diagnose and predict future society (Diagnosis).

Accordingly, the National Gwacheon Scientorium intends to play a central role in the propagation of scientific minds among the public and establish itself as one of the world’s best science museums by organizing a variety of science and cultural events in the outdoor spaces, including the Science Plaza, Science Culture Plaza, and Learning Area, the Theater in the Exhibition Halls, Conference Rooms, and the Multi-Purpose Exhibition Hall.

□ Main Contents

○ Organizing open science festivals in which all sorts of people can participate, such as experiential programs for children, teenagers, and families, school-linked programs, science-related clubs, and study groups to arouse an interest in science, improve research capabilities, and expand the science knowledge base

○ Organizing various science festivals combining music, drama, and performances, such as science concerts, b-boy performances, magic shows, and science reading contests

○ Organizing a science camp festival as a theme park event together with the nearby Modern Museum of Contemporary Art and Seoul Grand Park

○ Organizing a tour of overseas science museums and an international science camp to encourage global cooperation between science museums and to establish the reputation of the National Gwacheon Scientorium globally
